Plenary Session

Markle's Connecting for Health collaborative hosted a plenary session in Washington, DC on April 30th and announced the release of the consensus statement Achieving the Health IT Objectives of ARRA: A Framework for 'Meaningful Use' and 'Certified or Qualified' EHR.
Featured speakers included David Blumenthal, the new National Coordinator for Health IT, Mark McClellan of the Brookings Institution, Todd Park of the Center for American Progress, and Zoë Baird and Carol Diamond of the Markle Foundation.
A distinguished panel of speakers also offered their expertise and perspective on the subject. These were Steven Findlay of Consumers Union, David Lansky of Pacific Business Group on Health, Farzad Mostashari of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, Peter Neupert of Microsoft, Marc Overhage of the Regenstrief Institute, and Steven Waldren of American Academy of Family Physicians.
